Peter Charles Loechler, 67, rural Wabasha

Peter Charles Loechler, age 67, of rural Wabasha, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 after a 3 1/2 year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born December 2, 1949 in Wabasha, the son of Herbert and Alice (Evans) Loechler. He graduated from Wabasha High School in 1968. In 1981 he started his own business, Loechler Construction, which he ran until he retired in 2015 because of his cancer. He married Judy Roemer May 6, 1972 in Wabasha.
Pete is survived by his wife, Judy Loechler, Wabasha, MN; son, Jason (Karen) Loechler and granddaughter, Grace, Elk River, MN, daughter, Tara (Matthew) Glomski and grandchildren, Elisabeth, Noah and Bekah, Princeton, IN, son, Nick (Collette) Loechler and grandchildren, Jackson Gosse, Claire Gosse, Hudson and Eva, Wabasha, MN, and son, John Loechler, Princeton, IN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Gloria Loechler, Kellogg, MN, Scott and Karen Loechler, St. Charles, MN, Charlene Loechler, St. Charles, MN; sisters, Lois Swenson, Wabasha, MN and Kimberly Loechler, Plainview, MN; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Alice and his brother, John.
Pete was an active member of Hiawatha Bible Chapel in Wabasha. He was especially happy surrounded by his children and grandchildren. They brought him great joy. His pockets were always stocked with an endless supply of sweets and treats. Pete loved camping with the love of his life, Judy, and his many family and friends. He was a loving generous and supportive father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Pete’s love of Jesus brought him great comfort, joy and peace.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00am at Hiawatha Bible Chapel in Wabasha. Interment will be at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Family and friends called at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Friday from 4-8pm and at the church on Saturday one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Hiawatha Bible Chapel, 407 Hiawatha Dr. E., Wabasha, MN 55981. The Abbott Funeral Home of Wabasha was in charge of arrangements. www.abbottfh.com
