Randy Meurer
Randy Meurer, age 63 of Wabasha, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Emplify – Gundersen Medical Center, Wabasha, MN. He was born on August 12, 1962, the son of Roger and Gloria (Gosse) Meurer. He attended Wabasha-Kellogg School, and after school he went into the trade business. He worked at various places throughout his lifetime. Starting out pouring concrete, moving into waterproofing basements with American Waterworks, and then landing on setting tile as his final expertise. He worked for Carpet One and Hiller’s out of Rochester before starting his own business of “Randy’s Tile.”
Randy married Carol Ostrom on May 18, 1984, in Shakopee, MN. They were married for 28 years until the passing of Carol in August of 2012. Together they had two children, Casey and Matthew. He was very proud of Casey and Matt, and all of their accomplishments in life. Randy had unconditional love for his family. Randy met Carol Carrels after the passing of his wife and shared the rest of his life with her. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, and especially loved watching Rylan play volleyball. He enjoyed going to the local café every morning to have coffee and frequenting Subway for lunch. He also enjoyed deer hunting, ranger riding, fishing trips, trips to the cabin, and driving around in his white Ram with his side kick, Winston, riding shotgun.
Randy is survived by his daughter Casey (Troy Klindworth) Meurer, son Matthew (Kirsten) Meurer; two granddaughters Rylan Meurer and Harper Klindworth; Carol Carrels, her children Nicole Carrels and Megan (Bobby) Merchlewitz and their children Lincoln and Aubrey Merchlewitz; his mother Gloria Meurer; brothers: Bob (Patti) Meurer, Terry (Darla) Meurer, Brian (Jodie) Meurer, Dean Meurer, sister Shelly (Bill) Burns, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carol Meurer, his father Roger Meurer, and brother Barry Meurer.
Private burial and interment will be held graveside at Riverview Cemetery, Wabasha.
Celebration of life will be Saturday, June 6th, 2026, at the VFW, Wabasha from 2-5 pm.
Memorials can be directed to family in the form of monetary donations to help cover the cost of Randy’s Celebration of Life party and for the purchase of a memorial tree planted in his honor by his family.
