Raymond Nagell, 94, Minneapolis
Raymond Nagell, age 94, Minneapolis, died May 15, 2016.
He was a WWII veteran, 101st Airborne Division, 321 Glider Field Artillery. He served in the European Theatre: D-Day with the ship Susan B. Anthony crash-landing after hitting a mine, “Market Garden” Holland (the largest airborne operation) and the surprise attack by the Germans in the Ardennes Forest, Belgium, better known as “The Battle of the Bulge.” PFC Nagell’s awards and decorations were many.
Survived by loving wife, Helen (Wallerich) Nagell; son, Richard; and daughter, Sandra; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
