Relive Minnesota's Fur Trading Past with Arn Kind as French voyager Black Jacque
On October 13, the Read’s Landing Schoolhouse Museum hosted presenter Arn Kind as “Black Jacque”, an authentically costumed fur trade voyager. The event was sponsored in collaboration with the Wabasha Public Library to create an afternoon of Minnesota history and community with approximately 65 people in attendance. Admission was free, though donations were accepted to support future events like this one. As guests arrived, they were greeted with complimentary snacks and drinks. The museum opened its doors from 12-5 pm, inviting attendees to explore its treasures. But the real pièce de résistance was the live-action presentation with Black Jacque at 2 pm.
The old school house room buzzed with excitement as people filed in.
