Rose Ellen B. (Zomok) Carson, age 74, of Winona, formerly of the Wabasha and Kellogg area, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Lake Winona Manor, where she resided the past month, with her loving daughter at her side. She was born February 27, 1941 in Winona, the daughter of Joseph and Ellen (Dial) Zomok. She was a 1959 graduate of Wabasha High School and a 1964 graduate of Winona State Teachers College. She worked as a typesetter for the Wabasha County Herald and later worked as the office manager for Wabasha Cablevision. She moved to Winona in 2001.
Rose was a past member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg.  She was an accomplished bowler, once bowling a 675 series in 1978.  Rose loved reading, crocheting, cooking, baking, decorating cakes, and playing cards.  Rose was a very kind and giving woman.  She was always willing to help those in need and disadvantaged.  Some of her most enduring qualities were honesty, kindnesses and being non-judgmental towards all.  She was especially close to her daughter, Kathy, whom she raised alone.  Rose was very proud of the woman Kathy had become.
