Victor H. Hiers, 97, Wabasha

 Victor H. Hiers, 97 of Wabasha, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center, Wabasha, MN.
 Victor Herman was born August 15, 1921, in Connersville, IN, to Asa and Katherine (Herman) Hiers. He graduated from Connersville High School and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Purdue University. He was married to Mary Elizabeth Metcalf, they divorced, and he later married Doris Bailey.
 He was formerly employed with Hamilton Manufacturing, Two Rivers, WI; Remington Rand, New York, NY; and American Electric (IT&T), Memphis, TN.
 He is survived by his daughter Nan (Glenn Robeck) Hiers, Wabasha; his son Steven Hiers, West Haven, CT; three grandchildren: Sam (Rebecca) Schwen, Nelson, WI; Joe (Rebecca) Schwen, Zumbro Falls, MN; and Jesse (Kari) Schwen, Champlin, MN; nine great grandchildren; a nephew Mike Hiers, Connersville, IN; Gayle Halberstadt, Connersville, IN; his sister Norma’s daughters: Cheryl and Susan; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law Thelma and Albert Halberstadt; sister Norma Massey; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Mary Hiers and his nephew Fred Halberstadt.
 Interment will be at Dale Cemetery, Connersville, IN at a later date.
