Arthur E. Peterson “Sod”

Arthur Edwin “Sod” Peterson (86) of “Little Plum” Frankfort Township, Pepin Co., WI; died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City WI. He was born May 9, 1930 in Little Plum, son of Gustav and Agnes (Kallstrom) Peterson.
He attended Little Plum school before graduating from Arkansaw High School. On August 9, 1969 he married Judy Risser in Minneapolis, MN. They farmed on the Peterson family farm most of his life. Later Judy and Arthur moved to Ella.
In his younger years, “Sod” played baseball and basketball, but especially loved baseball where he was quite a pitcher. He loved the farm, going to auctions “collecting treasures”, playing horseshoes, hunting, fishing and he was an avid Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Peterson of Arkansaw, WI; sons, Paul Peterson of Cadott, WI; Peter (Jennifer) Peterson of Pepin, WI; two grandchildren, Phineas and Liam; and his sister, Arcella Kralewski of Durand, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Anton & Wilma Peterson; sister and brother-in-law, Anna &Arnold Carlson; brother-in-law, Wilfred Kralewski.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial was at the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery with lunch following at the Arkansaw Community Center. Friends may called Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
