Debra Ann Hoyt

Debra Ann Hoyt, 65, of Arkansaw, WI passed away peacefully Saturday, March 4, 2023 at her home. She was born April 24, 1957 in Durand, WI; daughter of Bernard and Charlotte (Myers) Marcks. She grew up on the family farm in Little Plum Valley and lived in Arkansaw later in life.
She graduated from Pepin High School in 1975. Following high school, Debbie attended Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire where she studied cosmetology.
She married James Hoyt and together had two sons, Jake, and Chad. They later divorced.
Debbie was a beautician at the House of Beauty in Durand for over twenty years. She then worked as a ward clerk for fifteen years at Oakview Care Center in Durand. After the closing of the care center, Debbie worked as a ward clerk at Chippewa Valley Hospital for the next five years, until retiring at the age of 62. After retiring, Debbie enjoyed helping & fixing hair for the residents of the Plum City Care Center.
In 2014, Debbie met Bob Anderson. Together they enjoyed their trips to South Dakota, fishing on the river, and going for drives in the old car. They had a love for auctions, garage sales, and making every day an adventure. When at home, the two of them did the yard work together. They were pretty much inseparable.
Debbie was a caring individual and enjoyed helping others. She had a love for birds, flowers, and the outdoors. You could find Debbie in her flower gardens. She had a passion for antiques, refurbishing furniture, and crafts. One of her greatest joys was her granddaughter, Anissa. She loved spending time with her and attending her sporting events. She loved her dog, Allis.
She is survived by her fiancé’, Bob Anderson of Arkansaw; two sons, Jake Hoyt (Maggie Raethke, her children, Morgan and William) of Arkansaw, Chad Hoyt (Alaina Zack, her son, Jamison) of Arkansaw; granddaughters, Anissa Hoyt and Tia Mittlestadt; siblings, Randy (Kim) Marcks of Pepin, Scott (Julie) Marcks of Pepin, Rebecca Marcks of Menomonie, Brad (Ruth) Marcks of Pepin, Brenda (Wes) Coan of Wabasha; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Marcks.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at a later date.
