Lester W. Komro

Lester W. Komro, age 90 of Durand, died Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at his home in Durand.
Lester was born on June 8, 1934 in Pepin County to Alex and Anna (Pfeiffer) Komro. He grew up in Arkansaw and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1952. After high school Lester joined the U.S. Airforce where he made his career. After retiring, Lester returned to Durand where he lived the rest of his life.
Lester enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at McDonalds. He truly loved and cared for flowers and plants at his home.
Lester is survived by his sister, Lorraine Green of Minneapolis, MN, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, Louis, George, and Eldred Komro, Mary Peebles, and Rose Roark.
Private family services will be held.
