Tim David Hofmeister
Tim David Hofmeister, age 75 of Plum City, passed away peacefully at home with family, Sunday, August 16, 2026. Tim was born in Plum City, WI on May 23rd, 1951, to Floyd and Elvira (Braatz) Hofmeister. He attended local schools and graduated high school in 1969 from Plum City WI. After high school, Tim joined the Army and served overseas for 2 years. Following his honorable discharge, he went to college at UW-Stout for a B.S. in Engineering. After college, Tim moved to Wausau and worked in Schofield as a project engineer and an EMT. He married and had 3 children with Peggy McRoberts. Though they later divorced, they both had an active role in raising their children. He worked in Schofield for 5 years before moving back to Plum City WI. to work at SB Foot Tannery in Redwing, MN. Later jobs included being a tool and dye specialist for UFE, and lastly, he retired from Bic.
Tim also had many other odd jobs and hobbies. He pursued a two-year degree late in life in CNC Machining at CVTC. He loved being outdoors whether it be hunting, fishing, forestry, bee keeping, making maple syrup, gardening, mowing his lawn, and giving milk to many stray cats he claimed he didn’t want and much more.
He is survived by three sons: David (Val) Hofmeister, Luke Hofmeister, Thomas (Beth) Hofmeister; five sisters, Joan (Norman) Odden, Nancy (Philip) Tschumperlin, Lois (Raymond) Zielkie, Dawn Hofmeister, Becky (Joel) Hofmeister-Timblin; 8 grandchildren: Danielle Eraquam, Vanessa (Alex) Christiansen, Mason (Isabella) Richardson, Zoe (Quinnten) Richardson, Riley Hofmeister, Kadyn (Kayla) Hofmeister, Harper Hofmeister, Tristan Hofmeister; as well as two great-grandchildren, Lilly Richardson, Elowyn Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvira and Floyd Hofmeister, a sister, Kay (Lawrence) Huppert and three brothers, Roger (Debbie), Donald, and Tom Hofmeister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bohdi’s Event Center in Durand on August 29th from 1:00PM-5:00PM located at: 209 W. Main St, Durand, Wis.
