County officials sworn in 2015
A semi private official swearing in ceremony took place at the Government Center in the County Commissioners Board Room with Sheriff Dave Brand doing the swearing in of the officials on Friday, January 2, 2015.
Sheriff Brand officially pinned the ceremonial sheriff’s badge on his long time friend, newly elected Ron Ganrude. There was a moment of emotion as Brand pinned the badge onto Ganrude’s lapel while the other six newly elected officials watched as the transition transpired from one sheriff to another.
The officials then raised their right hand for the oath... “I, Ron Ganrude, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties to the best of my knowledge and ability,” Ganrude and other officials said. “So help me God.”
Sheriff Band shared, “Life will take us on a different journey now. But all will know that I support and pray for their safety everyday. I will look forward to a little rest and time to share with my family and hopefully my wife, Pam and I can get a little down time together. It will certainly be a change. Pam interjected, “It will be a time to get a little rest and rejuvenate for a new life style.”
For the new sheriff in the county, “Sheriff Ron Ganrude shared, “I’m looking forward to getting back to work and will be busy choosing a new chief deputy.” He has reviewed the four applications and will be starting the interviews very soon.
Ganrude made comment that he will be working to develop middle management throughout the department and looks forward to all the challenges this new position brings with him and the department. “I thank all that have been so supportive and I will strive to do my very best.”
