Arnold Prissel
Arnold John Prissel, 81, of Mondovi, passed away at Dove Healthcare – West in Eau Claire on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, having had dementia.
Arnold was born on Oct. 19, 1935, in Lima, to the late Henry and Lucy (Bauer) Prissel. Arnie moved to Racine after high school. He was called to serve at Fort Lewis, Wash., as a medic in the Army National Guard in 1962. Arnie then met and later married his wife, Arleen Bollinger, on Feb. 23, 1963, in Gilmanton. He spent most of his life working as a machinist and farmer. Arnie was a member of Eleva Lutheran Church and proudly served the Forrest-Gunderson-Klevgard American Legion, Post 264 in Gilmanton.
Arnie’s life is celebrated by his wife of 53 years, Arleen of Mondovi; three children, Steve (Phyllis) Prissel of Bremerton, Wash., Karen Quinn of Altoona, Eric (Penny) Prissel of Siren; local grandchildren, Avonlea (Andy) Hanson of Eau Claire, Dillon Todahl of Eau Claire, Andreas Quinn of Altoona; sisters, Margie Bollinger of Gilmanton, Carol (Larry) Carothers of Durand; sister-in-law, Doris Prissel of Mondovi; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
Arnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; sisters, Annabelle (Charles) Richmond, DeLores (Richard) Lietke, Dorothy (Robert) Driver, along with respective brothers-in-law, including Arde Bollinger.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Eleva Lutheran Church, Pastor Robert Castro officiating. Inurnment followed in Gilmanton Cemetery.
A special thanks to Dove Healthcare – West palliative care unit for providing exceptional care during Arnie’s stay. Staff and volunteers alike administered loving, compassionate care, as well as dispensing companionship and assistance to the family.
