Anxious to enter this world, Arich was delivered by Pastor Chuck Coggins in the Plainview Ambulance outside of Methodist Hospital.
Arich spent his entire childhood in Plainview, MN. He attended PEM Schools, graduating in 2012. He enjoyed running Cross Country and Track & Field, where he made his forever friends. An avid reader, his second home was the Plainview Public Library where he spent many hours discussing books and playing games with his friends. Arich also enjoyed volunteering for the library’s Summer Reading Program.
Following high school, he attended Rochester Community and Technical College and Winona State University where he pursued his love of reading and writing. Passionate about writing, he wrote and submitted short stories to many publications. His stories were published in CC&D magazine and SATORI literary magazine in the fall of 2017. Arich obtained his degree in English from WSU in December of 2018.
Before the ink on his diploma was dry, Arich moved to Thailand where he taught and tutored English. His adventures also took him to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bali. Arich loved teaching. When he spoke about his students, you could hear the excitement in his voice and see the wonder on his face.
Arich returned to Plainview, MN last summer. He was involved with fundraising efforts for Engage Winona, a non-profit organization driving equitable civil action and social change by working to ensure everyone has access, voice and power in community planning. He had recently relocated to Madison, WI.
Left to honor Arich’s memory are his parents, Julie Herrmann of Plainview and Tom Herrmann of Madison, WI; brother Lukas (Grace) Herrmann and beloved nephew Jasper of Minneapolis, MN. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many friends throughout the world.
