E-S School Board approves salary increases for District staff

CENTRAL - After coming out closed session, the Eleva-Strum School Board supported pay increases for various levels of District employees at its May meeting held back on the 8th at the Central School Building IMC.

The Board approve a 1.8 percent base pay increase to the teacher compensation model and move all cells accordingly. This base pay increase results in an average salary increase of 4.12% for teachers. They also approved a five percent increase for IT assistant and cooks, approved a three percent increase for supervisors and assistant maintenance, approved a 4.12 percent increase for district office staff, approved a two percent increase for co-curriculars, approve a 4.12 percent increase and a $2500 base pay increase 4.12 percent for the director of pupil services, approved a $1.44 an hour
increase for full-time paraprofessionals, approve a 4.12 percent increase for administrator contracts.

Following the spring election, the school board entertains reorganization of officer positions. Reorganization results are as follows: Josh Stendahl for school board president; Kris Husby for school board vice president; Jessica Franson for school board clerk and Craig Marsolek for school board treasurer. Husby will remain the CESA #10 representative.

Various health care plans for the 2026-25 school year were approved by the Board such as the SimplyOne health plan and DeltaVision dental plan and approve the 2024-2025 Staff
Health Savings Account Employer Contribution Match from $325 for a single plan and $650 for a family plan to $500/single, $1000 family.

In other agenda items, a resolution authorizing the transfer of funds, the establishment of an escrow account with respect to and the defeasance of Certain of the General Obligation Refunding Bonds was approved unanimously along with all open enrollment applications.

In resignations and hires, the Board approved the resignations of Cory Kulig, Middle School Boys Basketball Coach; Elizabeth Pettis, Internal Substitute Teacher; Aaron Roemhild, Middle School Science Teacher; approved the retirements of Cheryl Alf, District Bookkeeper, effective 06-28-2024 and approved hires of Amy Miller, JV Girls Basketball Coach; Kloe Hillestad, Volunteer Girls Basketball Coach.
