Eleva-Strum School Board meets twice in June

CENTRAL - The Eleva-Strum School Board held two meetings in the month of June.

The board held a special meeting on June 30. During this meeting, the board approved the resignations of Dionne Anderson, elementary teacher, and Jon Higley, golf coach, with thanks for their service. They also approved the hiring of Christopher Keen, assistant football coach, and Andrew Draper, middle school football coach.

Superintendent Kulig went over the 2020-2021 budget year and the board approved allowing the administration to transfer surplus budget funds to fund 46. Kulig also informed the board of the 2021-2022 preliminary budget, which was also approved by the board. Motion by Semingson,

The board also approved the purchase student technology devices out of ESSER II fund.

During the June 9 meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Brianna Zwiefelhofer as 4-K teacher, with thanks for her service and the board unanimously approved the hire Halley Lepsch as English Learner Teacher and Skylar Newman as JV Volleyball coach.

Superintendent Kulig updated the board on COVID-19 pandemic and its affects on the district. The board approved making masks optional on district property until further notice.

In other agenda items, the board approved keeping lunch prices the same for the 2021-2022 school year but the USDA has extended free lunches through June 2022, they approved insurance rates for the 2021-22 school year, approved ALIO data processing contract with CESA #10 for the 2021-2022 school year and approved the early college credit program applications. The board also approved WIAA membership as well.
