Fall events at local community churches in Northfield-Hixton

The Hixton-Northfield Lutheran Parish Community Soup Supper held at Our Saviors on Oct. 4 had plenty of food and fellowship. Helping serve were confirmation students Wynona, Serraphina, Avery, Gretta and Nolan. Jane Hodge decorated the tables with flowers and gourds in the basement so it was cozy.. The parish thanked all who attended, the volunteers and also to Thrivent for an action grant, saying “We are so thankful for our community and this was our way to give back.”

Northfield's Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church’s Fall Bazaar and Auction happened on Oct.1. Tim Barnum, Auctioneer, who has been a part of this event for over 10 years, is known for keeping things lively and he didn't disappoint. There was a treasure trove to bid on—crafts, baked goods, decorative items, quilts, blankets, fresh produce, jams and more, and you never know when the bidding is going to get fierce, when you have 30 registered bidders. Auction helpers Emmit Smith & Abby Mann. with a little help from little Anna Mann here & there, got the sold items to the lucky people with the winning bids.

This fun event was sponsored by the UPC Women of the ELCA. A delicious lunch was served after the auction.
