O-F School Board approves deal with city, youth baseball/softball organization on softball field

OSSEO - The Osseo-Fairchild School Board approved a long-term plan with the City of Osseo and the Osseo Junior Baseball/Softball organization for maintenance of the softball field at Stoddard Park during its April meeting held back on the 10th in the O-F Technical Education Center - David P. Ihle Learning Center.

The plan covers the maintenance of the softball field split in terms of responsibilities and cost between the district and the city and the junior baseball/softball organization throughout the year.

In other items on the Board's agenda, approved were the district's property and liability insurance and health insurance for the 2023-24 school year along with certified staff salary schedule. All proposed Neola policies updates for the district were approved along with the district's long-term capital improvement plan.

The following new courses for Osseo-Fairchild middle/senior high school were also approved by the school board: Middle School Family and Consumer Sciences, Introduction to Foods, Infant and Toddler Development, Introduction to Healthcare, Let’s Teach: Field Experience in Education, Introduction to Foods for the Teen Chef, The Science of Food, Culture of Healthcare, Field Experience in Education, Retail Merchandising, Exploring Agriculture, Advanced Natural Resource Science, Ag Leadership, Crop and Soil Science, Advance Animal Science.

The following resignations were approved: Jared Verdon, high school social studies teacher and middle school football and boys basketball coach and Tera Simpson, high school girls' basketball head coach. The following hires were approved by the Board: Hayden Grambo - Custodian; Amy Vold - Fitness Center; Kris Flury - track and field assistant coach.

The Board came out of closed session and approved the administrative contract for the middle/high school principal.
