Prep Golf Round-up: Conference title races stuck in certainties

In both Tri-County Area prep golf conferences, the Dairyland and Western Cloverbelt, the title races seem pretty much stuck on where they were at the start now just beyond the min-point.

In the WCC that means control by the Chippewa Falls McDonell/Eau Claire Regis co-op and in the Dairyland, it's control by Cochrane-Fountain City. Both teams have won all the league meets so far.

That included a rescheduled meet held at Osseo Golf Club hosted by Osseo-Fairchild this past Tuesday, May 3.

McDonell/Regis won the meet with a combined, nine-hole team score of 156 followed by Bloomer 171, Fall Creek 180, Osseo-Fairchild 187 and Cadott 190. The Saints' Andrew Bauer was the meet medalist with a score of 34.

Both FC and O-F had golfers place in the top 10. The Crickets' scores were Hayden Vining 43, Bryce Koenig 44, Jake Thompson 46 and Bryce Kuula 47. For the Thunder, Spencer Anderson shot a 43, Ian Vold a 45, Aiden Anderson 47, Cater Vold 52 and Hayden Smith 64.

Also at the Osseo Golf Club was a Dairyland Conference Meet hosted by Augusta back on Thursday, May 28.

C-FC was first with a nine-hole score of 171 followed by Eleva-Strum 196, Whitehall 219, Alma/Pepin 266 and Independence 297 with Augusta and Gilmanton incomplete.

Eleva-Strum has been either second or third in league meets so far this season. Riley Sterry and Dominic Ellis both shot 43s to finish second and third individually, Madi Gullicksrud shot a 54 and Dominic Marco shot a 56 for the Cardinals. C-FC's Reed Schmidtknect shot a 42 to win medalist honors. For Augusta, Ali Knuth shot a 72, Abby Boone a 75, and Matt Hoff shot an 88.
