Strum Village Board agrees to sell land on former school property

STRUM - The Strum Village Board approved a motion to sell the land the former Strum Elementary School was located on at its February meeting held back on the 14th.
The full board agreed to a recommendation from the Finance Committee to sell the lots in the new Spruce Street Addition at $20,000 and have EXP Realty market the lots with an 11 percent mark-up as their commission. This contract will be for a minimum of three years.
The board also discussed repairs at Spangberg Field to its fence and lights. The agreed to a motion to replace the lights with LED lights and proceed with changing them all over to LED in the future.
The board came to a consensus to establish County Trunk Road D down 4th Avenue to Maple Street, then to 3rd Avenue for ATV/UTV so such vehicles are able to access ATV/UTV trails and request such from Trempealeau County. The county's Highway Commission recently allowed such vehicles on CTHs. They also, after some discussion, agreed to leave unchanged all village ordinances on pole sheds and garages and they approved a motion to take ownership of 3rd Ave. South motion was made by Berge and seconded by Thompson to request the maps of the underground utilities and once we receive that information, we will take ownership of the street.
