Strum Village Board approves budget for 2022

STRUM - The Strum Village Board approved the village's 2022 budget at a special meeting held back on Nov. 29 in the Village Community Room.

The levy proposes taxes at $335,963.62. The total amount of expenditures is $ 1,043,538.39. Besides the levy most the village's revenues come from intergovernmental monies (Federal, State funds) with the largest amount of expenditures in the budget go towards Public Works at Public Works at $258,283.22, just beating out debt service ( $ 256,397.12 ) and Public Safety ($227,637.99).

The budget was passed after a public hearing was held.

In other board action at this special meeting, the board approved the Spruce Street Subdivision plot plan, which was then sent in for approval by the State.

During the board regularly scheduled November meeting back on the 8th, the board approved approve the final plat plan for the Strum Elementary School property. It's subject to final approval by the Wisconsin State Department of Administration – Plat Review.

The board agreed to send a notice to the property owner at a 403 – 5th Avenue S. concerning fencing that is leaning and falling apart. The letter will ask if the fence can be taken down or repaired. There are also pine trees that have been trimmed and cut with only the trunks standing, which is also addressed.
