Trempealeau County Board approves Pietrek Park plan

WHITEHALL - The Trempealeau County Board of Supervisors approve a master plan for Joe Pietrek Jr. Memorial Park county park at its June meeting held on the 20th at the county courthouse.

The plan is an update for the park as a requirement after obtaining donated land next to it which came with the stipulations for some development within three years. To get grants for this development and to make improvements, the county needed to develop a master plan for the park. The county's parks department has hired consultants to help design the plan and public input sessions were held throughout the county and written surveys sent out to county school districts for more input. The plan was approved by unanimous vote.

The board also unanimously approved the authorizing the redemption of general obligation refunding bonds for the county's health center, approved resolutions for highway aids for county and town roads including $17,701.68 county share for Norden Ridge Rd. in the Town of Albion, $22,189.36 to Maug Rd. in the Town of Union; $16.950.54 for Brown Rd. in the Town of Sumner; $8,040.29 for Hawkenson Rd. in Chimney Rock Township and $25,756.66 for Fitch Coulee Rd. in the Town of Pigeon and $17,000 for Roskos Rd., $17,400 for Eimon Rd. and $13,841.76 for Bye-Nelson Rd. in the Town of Hale.
