Darold Dralle, 83, rural Wabasha

 Darold Dralle, age 83, of Sand Prairie, rural Wabasha, MN and formerly of Bristow, IA, died peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Lake City Hospital. He was born September 14, 1932 in Bristow, the son of Velma (Salge) and Ervin Dralle. He attended country school, Bristow High School and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He served two years in the U. S. Army. On June 17, 1961 he married Verna Henkes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cresco, IA. They became the parents of two children, Eric and Rachel.
 In 1969 Darold returned to the family farm near Bristow where he and Verna farmed until 1986 when they moved to the Sand Prairie area of rural Wabasha. He worked several years for Lakeside Foods in their laboratory in nearby Plainview, MN and for the Wabasha County Development Achievement Center in Wabasha until his retirement.
 The couple’s favorite pastime was travelling several times a year to Lake Superior and the upper peninsula of Michigan.
 Darold is survived by his wife, Verna Dralle, Wabasha, MN; son, Eric (Renee) Dralle, Osage, IA; daughter, Rachel (Matt) Hollatz, Mason City, IA; five grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin, Ella and Jenna Dralle and Olivia Hollatz; sister, Betty (Robert) Frey, Aplington, IA; sister-in-law, Charlotte Henkes, Wabasha, MN; brothers-in-law, Melvin Henkes, Cresco, IA, Ronald Weis, Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and Mildred Henkes, Shirley Weis, Marlene Henkes and Sister Lea Henkes, FSPA.
 It was Darold’s wish that his body be donated to the Mayo Clinic Anatomy Department’s Bequest Program for medical research and teaching. There will be no formal memorial service at this time. His life will be celebrated at a later date in Iowa. The family prefers memorials to your local hospice chapter or to the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma research department at Mayo Clinic.
