Elaine M. Sylvester

Elaine M. Sylvester, 74 of Wabasha, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at Gundersen – St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Wabasha, MN.
Elaine Marie was born July 29, 1947, in Preston, MN to Robert and Mina (Gullickson) Haslerud. She was formerly married to Russell Sylvester and in June 2003 she married Thomas Gosse, in Wabasha. She was a member of United Church of Christ of Wabasha. Elaine was a cook and was employed at various local restaurants in the area. She also had a day care business in her home. Anyone that knew Elaine knows how devoted she was to her family and friends. You could always count on her unique sense of humor and keeping everyone entertained. She really enjoyed visiting with family, friends and strangers alike.
She is survived by her husband Tom; three children: Charles (Lynne) Casperson, St. Paul, MN; Terry Sylvester, Winona; and Sherry (Dave) Thiel, Rochester; nine grandchildren: Chelsea, Paige (Parker), Ryan, Megan, Adam, Tyler, Anthony, Abby, and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren: Oliver, Isaiah, and Makenzie; a sister Gloria (Carmen) Sorrentino, Highland Park, IL; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Inger ‘Kristine’ Smith; and a brother Charles Haslerud.
Services for Elaine will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at United Church of Christ of Wabasha, with Pastor Deb Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, Wabasha.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at Abbott Funeral Home, Wabasha and beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the church.
Casket bearers will be Gilbert Arnoldy, Jesse Barton, Terry Sylvester, Carmen Sorrentino, Victor Pittman, and Christopher Pittman.
