Falcon Football faces tough test against LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle/Pacelli
WABASHA—Wabasha-Kellogg faced another difficult opponent Friday night, falling 47-0 to LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle/Pacelli in the second game of the season.
The Falcons struggled to find their footing offensively against a strong opposing defense, finishing the night with 82 total yards. W-K recorded 54 passing yards and 28 rushing yards while picking up four first downs.
Quarterback Kevin Wiebusch completed 9 of 26 passes for 46 yards, while also contributing 10 yards on the ground. James Oxendine led the Falcons' rushing attack with 20 yards on six carries.
Wabasha-Kellogg's passing game found its biggest play of the night through William Stark, who hauled in two receptions for 47 yards, including a 25-yard long reception.
Defensively, Nolan Kruger and Jonas Dunn each finished with 14 total tackles, while Bryar Ender also recorded 14 tackles, including a tackle for loss. Kevin Williams added six tackles and came away with an interception.
LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle/Pacelli controlled much of the game offensively, accumulating 418 total yards compared with W-K's 82. The Falcons held their opponent to 153 passing yards but gave up 265 yards on the ground.
Despite the challenging start to the season, the Falcons will have an opportunity to regroup and continue building as they move further into the schedule. Wabasha-Kellogg enters its next game at 0-2.
