Jean Carol Grasby Sorensen

While we are deeply saddened by the loss of our beautiful Mother, we are extremely grateful that we were blessed to have had her in our lives for so long.
Jean Carol Grasby was born on July 12, 1934, in Houston, MN to Morris and Grace Grasby. She died on May 3, 2024, from a severe case of TMB (too many birthdays), and other than 10 hospital visits where they kept handing her a baby each time she left, she lived a long healthy life.
In her almost 90 years she wore many hats, but the one that she was most proud of was that of Mom (sometimes Dad) and Grandma.
She was a great cook, could stretch a pound of anything to feed an army, an excellent baker and she loved to sail (garage sale, that is). She loved a good bargain, a good joke and a good rainstorm.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husbands Archie Packer and Bill Sorensen, son Larry Packer, daughters-in-law Pat Packer and Barb Packer, son-in-law Roger Rabe, brother Warren (Sally) Grasby and grandson Jamie Packer.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Lyle (Kathy) Packer, Janalee (Roy) Pelowski, Sandra Riess, Jeff Packer (Laurie Camazine), Julie Packer, David (Carol) Packer, Kevin Packer (Michael Hill), Lisa Packer (Don Aitken) and Chad (Kecia) Sorensen, 25 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and last but certainly not least, her constant companion, her beloved cat, Robbie.
She had a very special way to make us all feel like each of us was her favorite child, and we all feel like we couldn’t have had a better Mom and friend. Rest in peace, sweet lady.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Front Porch in Kellogg on June 15 from 1:00-4:00 pm.
