Jon A. Kohn

Jon A. Kohn, age 62, of Daegu, South Korea, formerly of Wabasha, died Thursday, September 29, 2022, of natural causes in his home. Jon was born on May 26, 1960, in Wabasha, MN to Mathew “Sam” and Marietta (Loechler) Kohn.
Jon grew up in Wabasha and graduated from Wabasha Kellogg High School in 1978. After graduation he joined the Air Force where he served for 24 years until his retirement in 2002. While in the Air Force Jon served in multiple places around the United States as well as in Germany, Kuwait, and South Korea. Jon enjoyed his time in South Korea so much that he decided to stay there continuing his same military role as a civilian.
Jon is survived by his mother, Marietta Kohn; son, Matt Kohn; siblings Jackie (Gary) Rothmeier, Joe (Laurie Bakke) Kohn, Julie (Jeff) Miller, Jean (Dave) Grabau, and Jim (Karen) Kohn; nieces & nephews; Jenelle (Dan) Donahue, Jaylin Miller, Jamie (Kevin) Sprout, Justine Miller, Tyler Grabau, Nathan Grabau, Nick Rothmeier, and Samantha (Mike) Guidinger; great nephew, Jarrett Sprout; aunts: Yvonne “Vonnie” Meyer, Lois Loechler, Janice (Jerry) Owen; and several cousins.
Jon is preceded in death by his father, Mathew “Sam” Kohn, and several aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 27th at 11:30 AM at Saint Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha, MN. Fr. Raja will officiate and friends may call at Saint Felix Catholic Church on Thursday, October 27th starting at 10:30 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be at Saint Felix Catholic Cemetery, Wabasha.
