Judith “Judy” (Cary) Peters

Judith “Judy” (Cary) Peters, 85-year-old resident of Wabasha, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center, with family by her side. A private family service honoring Judy’s life will be held. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Common Closet of Wabasha. Judy was born on May 1, 1941, in Wisconsin to Warren and Nettie Cary. Her family later settled in Wabasha, Minnesota, where she graduated from Wabasha High School and met the love of her life, Donald Peters. They were married on June 18, 1960, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, Minnesota. Together they built a life centered on family, love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to one another. Judy and Donald also treasured their time in Sanibel, Florida, where they created years of cherished memories with family and friends. Judy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time along the Mississippi River, tending her flowers, painting, and taking walks along the beaches of Sanibel, Florida. She had a special gift for appreciating the beauty around her, and sharing that joy with family and friends. Judy also enjoyed giving back to her community and was a volunteer at the Common Closet of Wabasha. Judy is survived by her children, Jeff (Linda Engels) Peters, John Peters, and Suzanne Peters; her five grandchildren, Michael Peters, Lindsey Peters (Marty Niessen); Samantha Peters, Katherine Peters, and Abi Peters; her beloved sister, Mary; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Nettie Cary; her husband, Donald Peters; daughter-in-law, Lynn Peters; and her siblings. The family finds comfort in knowing that Judy’s legacy lives on through the memories she created, the love she shared, and the lives she touched throughout her 85 years.
