Margaret Mary Gusa

Margaret Mary Gusa, 96, of Wabasha, passed away early Sunday morning, September 15, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born July 12, 1928, in West Albany Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota to John and Clara (Shones) Hoffman. She attended Wabasha County Rural Schools. On October 22, 1945, she married Ernest Gusa at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview.

Margaret spent her lifetime in the Wabasha – Kellogg area where she and Ernest raised their family. Margaret loved sewing and sewed for her family and others for many years. She enjoyed going hunting, fishing, playing cards, and visiting Casino’s. The last few years her main enjoyment was visits from friends and family. Margaret was a member of the Kellogg American Legion Auxiliary.

Margaret is survived by her children; Barbara (Joe) Kirkwood of Lake City, Connie Gusa of Wabasha, Bradley (Lisa) Gusa, Darrel (Mary) Gusa, Larry (Shirley) Gusa, and Jeff (Jessica) Gusa all of Kellogg, and Scott Gusa of Quartzsite, AZ; daughter-in-law, Gail Gusa of Kellogg; 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, James and Gary, and daughter-in-law, Karen Gusa.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, with Father Tojy Jose officiating. The burial will follow the service at St. Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery in Plainview. Friends and family may visit from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
