Sherry Baker Verdick, 60, Wabasha
A Celebration of Life Service for Sherry Baker Verdick will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview with Deacon John DeStazio officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Verdick, 60, of Wabasha, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Methodist Campus, surrounded by her family.
Sherry Lou Baker was born February 13, 1956 to Robert and Sheila (Curran) Baker in St. Paul. She attended school in Plainview and Rochester, graduating in 1974 from Mayo High School in Rochester. She married John Verdick, her high school sweetheart, on October 27, 2007 at the Chapel of Angels in Durand, WI.
Sherry was employed by Great River Homes in Wabasha for sixteen years. She enjoyed going fishing and boating, loved to cook and bake, and above all else loved her family dearly. In 2007 Sherry received a very special gift from her husband, John. He was able to donate one of his kidneys to Sherry.
Sherry is survived by her husband, John Verdick of Wabasha; two daughters, Shannon (Shane) Johnson of Byron, and Tasha (Timothy) McDonough of Kellogg; five grandchildren, Macy, Madison, Keagan, Carter, Collin, and twins on the way; her mother, Sheila Curran Baker of Plainview; her aunts, Mary, Marge, and Kay Baker; and many cousins.
She will forever be missed.
