Wayne M. Ward
Wayne M. Ward, 77 of Kellogg, MN, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Wayne Michael was born May 3, 1946, to Raphael and Velma (Tebay) Ward. He graduated from Wabasha-Kellogg High School and served in the US Army and the Army National Guard of Minnesota. On July 27, 1968, he married Barbara A. Logan and together they raised two sons: Dave and Matt. Wayne and Barb lived in Homer MN for nine years before moving to Kellogg in 1977.
Wayne worked as a certified welder at Crenlo in Rochester, MN and retired after 25 years. Prior to his long-time career at Crenlo, he worked at Warner & Swasey, Winona Excavating, Archer Daniels, Road Construction where he operated heavy equipment, and he even tried his hand at selling cookware. He loved being a welder so he would build various things in his home shop. He also loved the country life, so he had a hobby of raising beef cattle. He was a long-time member of the Kellogg American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating,
Wayne loved his family and was especially proud to be a grandpa to his four wonderful granddaughters.
Wayne is survived by his wife Barb; sons Dave Ward and Matt (Mindy) Ward; four granddaughters Mary, Madison, Mylee, and Maci; siblings: Roxanne, Wanda, Ray, and Patrick and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Linda Ward.
There will be a private family service at a later date. You may ask why there is no visitation and Wayne would say “Let’s hold off on that”.
