Cory Barr

Cory James Barr, 34, died in the line of duty for Sun Prairie Fire Department, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1984, to Jack and Janet (Baker) Barr. He married Abby Dieckman on Sept. 22, 2012, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Sun Prairie.
Cory was the owner of Barr House, a realtor with Keller Williams (Barr Realty), a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, attended MATC, and was a Captain with the Sun Prairie Fire Department, volunteering for 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Abby; twin daughters, Aubrey and Hailey; parents, Jack and Janet; sister, Kim Barr; brother, Chad (Jeff) Barr; father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Anne Dieckman; three sisters-in-law, Ashley (Rob) McFarland, Audra (Jesse) Heiking and Alison Dieckman; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; a nephew, Jacob Hotchkiss; a brother-in-law, Dale Singer.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Sun Prairie High School, 888 Grove St., with Rev. Charlie Brandt and Rev. Steve Vera presiding.
