Donna Lund
Donna Kay Lund, 75, of Mondovi, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Dove Health Care South, Eau Claire.
She was born Feb. 4, 1941, in the Town of Drammen, Eau Claire County, to the late Holger and Edna (Raemer) Ottosen. A graduate of Mondovi High School, Donna married Carl Lund on Aug. 8, 1959. Carl and Donna owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Mondovi, where they raised their family.
She was a life-long member of Drammen Lutheran Church, and served as church secretary and Sunday School superintendent for many years. She will be remembered for the hundreds of quilts donated for church auctions or given to those in need. Donna served as treasurer of the town of Drammen and worked for Theisen Realty in Eau Claire.
She was an avid baker and sewer, and passed on her skills to her children and grandchildren. She served as a 4-H leader and as foods superintendent of the Eau Claire County 4-H Fair for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Donna and Carl were frequent travelers, Glacier National Park representing their favorite destination. Trips were made to Norway, California, Florida, North Shore Drive of Lake Superior, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.
Donna is survived by her five children, Doug (Rhonda) Lund of Mount Horeb, Kay Lund of Madison, Chuck (Betty) Lund of Mondovi, Brian (Kristin) Lund of Mondovi, Kris Lund of Iowa City, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Morgan, Miranda, Kylee, Amber, Kaia, Annika and Endre Lund; four siblings, Elaine Hagen, Ione Thomas, Luther (Ginny) Ottosen, Vesta Ottosen; sister-in-law, Laura Foiles; brother-in-law, Emil Lund; many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Carl.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, at Drammen Lutheran Church, S12275 County Rd. B, Mondovi. Burial followed in the Drammen Cemetery.
