Edward Adams

Edward M. Adams, of Mondovi, affectionately known as “Yuk Yuk” to many, passed away at the age 69, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the American Lutheran Communities in Mondovi, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1948, in Wabasha, Minn., son of the late Eldon and Mildred (Bielefeldt) Adams. Ed grew up on the family farm in Modena and his heart has always remained there and he enjoyed sharing his childhood memories with many.
Ed attended Mondovi schools, graduating from Mondovi High School with the Class of 1966. He then went on to further his education at UW-Eau Claire and after several years of hard work earned his Bachelor’s Degree.
One of Ed’s most proud accomplishments was when he passed his CPA exam, which allowed him the opportunity to begin his long career as a Certified Public Accountant. Ed started his career at Bauman & Associates, in Eau Claire, and then at PCA, in Mondovi. Around 1990, Ed opened his own accounting firm, Adams Accounting, in Mondovi, which he still owns to this day. Ed, as a civic and community minded man, served on the Mondovi City Council for over 27 years.
Ed enjoyed lazy days boating on the Mississippi River, singing karaoke, trap shooting, trips hunting and fishing in Canada, and was an avid and devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Ed’s memory will be as a man who loved life and all it had to offer.
He is survived by a sister, Sharon (Dan) Mikelson; nephews, Brad (Diane) Mikelson and their sons, Ryan and Isaac, and Bruce (Melissa) Mikelson and their sons, Jaykob and Ian; brother-in-law, Gary Clark; along with other in-laws, niece, Cathy (Jeff) Boman and their children, Chelsea, Spencer, Zachary and Noah Steward; nephew, Dave (Missy) Clark and their children, Mary Beth and Cal; aunts, Delores Beilefeldt and Peggy Benoit; and by his office family, Debbie, aka “little sister,” Lori, Kim, Susie and Andy.
Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Clark.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 16, at 11 a.m., at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Mondovi Chapel, with Chaplain Gary Preston officiating. Burial will be in the Modena Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 5 p.m., and again on Monday one hour prior to the service, all at the funeral home.
