Elaine Hagen

Elaine Elizabeth Hagen died peacefully on Oct. 15, 2017, at Grace Willowbrook in Eau Claire.
Elaine was born Aug. 26, 1927, to Paul and Hattie (Nichols) Thalacker. On Nov. 16, 1946, she married Vern Hagen. He passed away Sept. 5, 1982. To them, three sons were born, Willard, Dallas, and Erling.
Elaine was a woman of great integrity and high value. She would always find time for those who needed help. She loved to do many crafts, such as knitting, crocheting, tatting, sewing, and card making.
She did volunteer work at the LE Phillips Senior Center and Luther Hospital.
Elaine did many different jobs, waitress, clerk, factory and office work, Sacred Heart Hospital, besides owning a restaurant.
She is survived by Willard and Leona; Erling and Linda Hagen of Racine; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosella Nelson of Eau Claire and Jane Emerson of Eleva; sisters-in-law, Lois Thalacker of Eau Claire, Jean Hagen of Nelson, Jurdis and Donald Mann of Alma, Myrna Hagen of Nekoosa, Beverly Hagen of Racine; brother-in-law, August Schriener of Florida; many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; son, Dallas; brother, Lyman Thalacker; her parents; father- and mother-in-law; brothers-in-law, Calvin and Marlin Hagen, Richard Emerson, Edmund Hagen and Merrol Nelson; sister-in-law Alda Schreiner.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3214 Golf Rd, Eau Claire, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pastor Jamie Brieske officiating. Private burial was in Modena Cemetery.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona, assistied the family with arrangements.
