Eleanor Wright

Eleanor Jane “Ellie” Wright went to her Lord on June 16, 2017.
She was 84 years young. She was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Chris and Amanda (Hoaglund) Pederson.
She spent much of her childhood at the Hoaglund family farm outside of Buffalo, Minn.
Ellie was instrumental in bringing the Boy Scouts to Mondovi and served as a den mother for many years. Her love of nursing began as a nurses aide at the Lutheran Home, in Mondovi, so after all of her children had graduated from high school, Ellie went back to school in Eau Claire and accomplished a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She spent over 20 years working in various capacities at the Lutheran Home, as well at other nursing facilities in the area, and did home healthcare for many Mondovi residents. She retired in 2002, upon her marriage to Vern, at Zion Lutheran Church, and was able to spend 10 wonderful years with him.
Ellie was a gifted seamstress, loved reading history books, but the most special time for her was when she was golfing and fishing with her husband, Vern. She also enjoyed being with her very good friends, Katie Mahlum, Rosemary Smith and Ruth Lehman for ladies night out, and celebrating each of their birthdays and other special occasions.
She is survived by all seven of her children, Robert House of Pierz, Minn., Michael House of Bay City, Diane (George) Wisell of Saint Mary’s, Ga., Irish Jade of Durand, Jonathan (Ketty) House of Fort Worth, Texas, Christine Cruz, Amherst, Ohio, William (Tammy) House of Mondovi; four of Vern’s daughters, Terry (Bart) Fojtik of West Bend, Barbara (Randy Crank) Wright of Mondovi, Judith (John) Schroeder of Eau Claire, Patricia (Richard) Harris of St. Louis, Mo.; her loving grandchildren,  Nicholas McGee of Bennington, Neb., Jocelyn Cruz of Los Angeles, Calif., Bridgette Cruz of New York, N.Y., Angela (Tim) Schlosser of Mondovi, Ryan House of Waumandee, Amanda Martinez of Durand, Elvis Martinez of Winona, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Zachary Schlosser, Karsten Stai, and Carter Maxwell; sister, Mary Ann (Dan) Hoffman of Frisco, Texas; brother, Paul Pederson of Mission, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Pederson; nieces, Kathy Smiley, Nancy Rowe, Jane Merle and Carole Gardner, all of Texas; nephews, Duane, Greg and Steven Pederson; numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Laverne Wright of Mondovi; brother, Donald Pederson of Wayzata, Minn.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 22, at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi, with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Inurnment will follow in Riverside Lutheran Cemetery, Mondovi. A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church.
