Hwy. 10 crash results in minor vehicle damage

No one was hurt when a vehicle operated by a 16-year-old driver rear-ended another car on U.S. Highway 10 west of Mondovi last Thursday morning, April 21.

According to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred just west of Fitzgerald Road around 7:30 a.m.

Police say both vehicles were headed east on Hwy. 10. The accident happened when the 16-year-old female driver and an 11-year-old passenger, of Mondovi, were talking and didn’t notice the car ahead of them was stopping to make a left-hand turn until it was too late to avoid a collision.

The 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier struck the rear portion of a 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Sarah R. Weber, 29, of Mondovi.

The crash remains under investigation by the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department.

Bauer’s Auto Service towed the 16-year-old’s vehicle from the scene.
