Lisa Catherine Farnsworth was born on Oct. 30, 1972, to parents James Getty and Joan Thompson, in Kenosha, Wis.
In 1978, her family moved to the Modena area, where she grew up and attended the Mondovi schools. She graduated from Mondovi High School in 1990. She attended UW-River Falls, but took a break to marry John Raney, in 1993, and to start her family. She returned to graduate with a degree in engineering in 1996. Lisa and John later divorced.
Lisa then met the man she called her soul mate, Dave Farnsworth, and they were united in marriage in 2006. Sadly, Dave passed away just a few short, but happy years into their marriage, in 2012. Lisa faced and conquered many challenges in her life, usually by doing her research and forming a battle plan. Sadly, she lost the battle with cancer before she got the chance to fight. Lisa passed away surrounded by her loving family on Jan. 21, 2019, in Middleton, Wis.
Lisa is survived by her daughters, Brianna Raney of Madison, Wis., Tara (Dan) Roper of Bremerton, Wash; sons, Aiden Raney of Platteville, Wis. and Lorenzo Coates of Platteville, Wis.; grandsons, Liam Raney of Madison, Wis. and Arthur Roper of Bremerton, Wash.; step granddaughter, Payson Roper of Bremerton, Wash.; sisters, Debbie (Tracy) Topp of Brownsville, Minn., Renee (Shar) Patton of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; brothers, Neil Patton of Racine, Wis. and Michael (Alyson) Mattel of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her stepfather, Larry Thompson of Nelson, Wis.
In her short lifetime she created strong bonds with numerous friends who will miss her as well, including longtime friend Kimberly (Mike) Fillmore of Gilmanton, Wis.
Lisa was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Dave Farnsworth.
