Marian Rudy

“I have made you, and I will carry you, and I will sustain you, and I will rescue you.” (Isaiah 46:4)
Marian Ruth (Semingson) Rudy, 92, of Eleva, died on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Syverson Lutheran Home, in Eau Claire.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1926, in Eleva, Pleasant Valley Township, Eau Claire County, the oldest of seven children born to Herman and Selma (Tweed) Semingson. She was baptized on Feb. 21, 1926, by Pastor H.A. Wichmann and confirmed on June 9, 1940, at Eleva Lutheran Church, also by Pastor H.A. Wichmann. Her memory verse was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall have everlasting life.”
Marian graduated from Eleva High School and went on to work at a paper mill in Eau Claire. She was united in marriage to Clifford Lynn Rudy on June 23, 1945. They were married by Pastor Guttebo at Concordia Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. Marian and Clifford lived briefly in the town of Seymour before moving to their farm near Eleva in Pleasant Valley. They farmed the “Hills of Home” for many years as they raised the “Four Ks.”
Marian was a lifelong member of Eleva Lutheran Church and was active in Ladies Aid, Homemakers, Community Club, and Jensen School functions. She was a homemaker who sewed clothes for herself and family, making three daughters’ wedding dresses and quilts for family. She loved to bake, especially Norwegian treats for Clifford. She liked to read and pick wild blackberries, “black caps,” and apples on the farm. Marian enjoyed nature and all it had to offer, instilling a love for it in her children and grandchildren.
She enjoyed square dancing and old-time dancing with Clifford and their many friends. She also had good times playing cards with her cousins and sister, Shirley, and having Birthday Club with friends. Marian passed away on Mother’s Day, her favorite day to have a picnic and pick “Mayflowers” with her family.
The family would like to thank Eleva Lutheran Church, the Eleva Lutheran Church Women, and the Lydia Circle for their many cards, gifts, and prayers for Mom. Thank you also to Mary Berg for visiting Mom and those who served communion and visited. Our thanks to the amazing staff at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living, Syverson Lutheran Home, and Heartland Hospice, who loved and cared for mom in her frailty.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for loving, nurturing, and caring for us in the “Hills of Home,” in beautiful Pleasant Valley.
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you many be also.” (John 14:3)
