Mildred Jeanette Finstad, 93, of Strum, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at Augusta Care and Rehab.
She was born the daughter of Mathias and Julia Amundson, in Strum, on April 7, 1925, and resided there her whole life.
Mildred married Bjarne B. Finstad on May 29, 1946, and they had four sons, Gregory A. (Mary) Finstad of Minneapolis, Minn., Brian M. Finstad of Minneapolis, Minn., Lynn A. (Nancy) Finstad of Eau Claire, and predeceased in death by a son, Mark D. (Lois) Finstad of Howards Grove, Wis.
Mildred was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, of Strum, and served in the Ladies Aid and circles into her late 80s. She was a stay at home mom and was known for her excellent lefse and pream cookies and passed her skills onto her daughters-in-law and grand-daughters-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Gregory A. (Mary) Finstad of Minneapolis, Minn., Brian M. Finstad of Minneapolis, Minn., Lynn A. (Nancy) Finstad of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Lahna Finstad, Evon (Rachel) Yakar, Zachary (Joanna) Finstad and Ann Finstad; great-grandchildren, Shoshana, Talia and Micah Bidner, Caleb and Jonah Yakar, Kyle and Megan Finstad; other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her son, Mark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 109 Elm St., Strum, with Rev. Valerian Ahles officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will take place in West Beef River Cemetery at a later date.
