Mondovi falls to Mounders in tight game

Encountering a challenging schedule to start off the season, the Mondovi boys slipped to 0-3 following a four-point loss, 58-54 at Elk Mound on Thursday, Dec. 10.

The game was close throughout both halves, and overall aggressiveness was crucial to the final score. With many fouls being called on both teams, free throws were key to the final result. In the end, Elk Mound triumphed over the Buffaloes.

The high scorers for the night included Cole Kamla with 17 points, as well as Greg Poeschel and Blake Purdy both with 14. Kamla hit five of his eight attempts from 3-point land while Purdy notched another double-double with 11 rebounds for the night. 

High scorer for the Mounders was Dane Lew with 21 points.

Mondovi will face Plum City/Elmwood at home this Friday, Dec. 18, for their lone game of the week. Other upcoming games include traveling to Bangor on Dec. 19, and facing the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder on Dec. 21.
