Panther boys fall to Pirates

On Thursday, Jan. 28, the Panthers traveled to Cochrane-Fountain City to take on the Pirates and came home with a loss with a score of 83-57.

Right from the start the Pirates came ready to play and were hitting shots all night.  The Panthers were not able to keep up with the Pirates’ high-powered offense and went into halftime down 19. However, to end the half, Derric Gray hit a three-quarter court shot which was about the only highlight of the night.

Nick Urness led the team with 20 points followed by Austin Johnson with 11 points.

The Pirates came ready to play and the Panthers will try to put this one behind them. Gilmanton hoped to bounce back at home vs. Alma Center Lincoln on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The boys will also travel to Augusta on Friday, Feb. 5, to take on the Beavers.
