Travis Lessman

Travis Lessman, 35, of rural Mondovi, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at his home.
Travis was born Oct. 2, 1980, in La Crosse, to Kenneth and Dawn (Dabelstein) Lessman. He married Rachel Helgeson on April 24, 2004, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi.
Travis owned and operated Affordable Siding and Remodeling. Travis enjoyed woodworking and made many projects for his home and gifts, including a log bed for his son Dillon and also wooden storage lockers for all of his sons. He was an awesome mechanic and helped many friends with their snowmobiles and other projects. He could figure out any mechanical problem with any kind of vehicle. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed teaching his boys. He also taught them his love of processing the meat to provide for his family and to give to many others. Travis and his sons enjoyed playing catch in the yard nightly and the whole family enjoyed their time together, taking Ranger rides around the farm. It was a passion to ride his Harley with friends and family. Travis was well known for his good work ethic and energy and he was always willing to help out neighbors.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel; three sons, Dalton, 15, Carter, 10, and Dillon, 7; father, Kenneth (Sharon) Lessman of Independence; mother, Dawn (Virgil) Perry, Sr. of Blair; mother-in-law, Cheryl (Wayne) Peterson of Gilmanton; father-in-law, Don (Deb) Helgeson of Mondovi; sister, Nickol (Shane) Giacomino of Osseo; grandmother, Verna Dabelstein of Arcadia; step-brother, Travis Skroch of Independence; step-sisters, Amanda (Shane) Kniseley of Whitehall, Rachel Skroch of Independence, Patti (Bob) Bacher of Scottsdale, Ariz., Lori (Jeff) Morrow of Stuart, Fla.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his dog, Buck.
Travis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Caroline Lessman; maternal grandfather, Richard Dabelstein; step-brother, Virgil Perry, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, rural Mondovi, with Rev. Kermit Solem officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
