Mondovi man receives life-threatening injuries in Pepin County rollover crash

A 34-year-old Mondovi man was airlifted by Mayo One Air Ambulance following a one-vehicle crash in Pepin County on Sunday night, Oct. 25.

According to the Pepin County Sheriff’s Department, a motor vehicle crash with unknown injuries was reported at 9:14 p.m. Sunday night on County Highway T west of Albany G.

Upon arrival by authorities, a single vehicle was located off the roadway of Hwy. T. The vehicle had sustained heavy damage and the driver, Joshua Bafford, had been ejected.

Bafford was airlifted to an unknown trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The crash investigation conducted by police shows that Bafford’s vehicle was traveling west on Hwy. T, then left the roadway and rolled several times. Bafford was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was not wearing a seat belt.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the incident, police say.

Also assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Durand Ambulance, and the Durand police and fire departments.

The crash remains under investigation by the Pepin County Sheriff’s Department.
