Benefit to help local family recover from Labor Day weekend flooding

An Eleva family that was ousted from its home by recent flooding will receive a boost from the area community during a benefit this Sunday, Nov. 1, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Eleva Legion. Pictured, Lanny and Jamie Ludwigson and their children, Micah, Max and Maiya, are hoping to make repairs to their home, expected to cost upwards of $60,000.

The Ludwigsons’ Eleva home may look undamaged from the outside, but floodwaters that filled their basement the night of Sept. 6 soaked the foundation and first floor.

The flooring and sections of the walls were torn out in the days following the disaster and the Ludwigsons are still unable to move home.
