E-S community truly on board with Cardinal Football Nation

The Eleva-Strum football team claimed a share of the Dairyland Conference title for the second straight year in 2015 with a 7-2 overall record (6-1 DC). This year’s seniors played four years under the guidance of coach Chad Hanson, who has helped elevate the Cardinals’ program from five wins combined during the 2012 and 2013 seasons to a conference and playoff contender.

The Eleva-Strum football players can often be found helping out in the elementary schools. Pictured, players worked with third-graders to make Christmas cards for Strum Nursing Home residents last year.

Third-graders donned the pink E-S football jerseys for a flag football game with the varsity players. E-S head coach Chad Hanson says simple activities like this have helped create a family culture that has brought the football program and the community together.

Strum Primary students were rewarded for meeting reading goals with the opportunity to “pie” E-S football players.

Assisting with summer youth football camps is another activity that gets the E-S players involved with kids in the community.
