Buffaloes top Thunder

On Monday, Dec. 21, the Buffaloes journeyed to Osseo-Fairchild to take on the Thunder.  With this being the last game before the holiday break, the Mondovi boys were determined to come out on top.

During the first half the Thunder were able to outscore the Buffaloes, 32-25, but Mondovi had more to give. The Buffaloes came out stronger in the second half and successfully closed the gap, gaining a slim lead. The Mondovi boys took the win with the final score of 64-62.

Lead scorer for the Buffaloes was Greg Poeschel with 20 points. Twelve of those points came off of 3-pointers. Blake Purdy had an impressive 15 points along with Cole Kamla with 13. Purdy led in rebounds, collecting a total of 11 for the night.

Lead scorer for the Thunder was Aaron Hagberg with 17 points.

The boys were scheduled to play in their holiday tournament Dec. 28-29 at Aquinas High School.
