Horse logger travels through local area

“Lee the Horselogger” traveled down W. Main St. past Waumandee State Bank toward downtown Mondovi on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Lee and his large wagon likely caught the attention of many people driving on U.S. Highway 10 last week.

Inside his wagon, Lee sits on a simple wooden captain’s chair while he drives. His three draft horses pull the wagon at a measured 3 mph pace, traveling approximately 10-15 miles each day.

A map on the back of his wagon illustrates the thousands of miles “Lee the Horselogger” has covered since he began traveling the country seeking work a decade ago. The horse logger and his team were in between jobs during their stop in Mondovi, where they stayed at the Tourist Park for two days.
